A kit makes sense when you're handy, you have help and equipment, or you already have a builder. You choose the size and options; we make sure the kit is right for the site and arrives complete.
What a BWG Sheds kit is
A kit is the building, supplied: the steel frame, purlins and girts, cladding, flashings, fixings and your chosen doors and options, engineered for the address it's going to. You or your builder prepare the site and slab and put it together.
Frame components are pre-punched for bolt-together assembly, and the kit comes with assembly plans. If you get stuck during the build, you can phone us.

What you organise
A kit leaves some things with you: the slab or footings, any approval (unless you use our approval assistance), site preparation, lifting equipment, a capable crew, and safe work at height. A shed project over $11,000 in value that you build yourself needs a QBCC owner-builder permit, and owner-builders can't build farm or industrial buildings, so check which route suits your project before you order.

Can BWG Sheds supply a DIY shed kit?
Yes. We supply steel shed, garage and farm shed kits designed to your size and options, engineered for your site and delivered to your property in our Queensland service areas.
Do you deliver shed kits?
Yes, to sites within our Queensland service areas. Delivery is quoted for your address. Tell us about access to the site (gates, slope, wet-weather tracks) so the right truck is booked.
Can I use my own builder?
Yes. Many customers buy a kit and have their own builder or erector put it up. For work over $3,300 in value the person doing the erection generally needs the appropriate QBCC licence.
Do I need an owner-builder permit to build a shed kit?
If you build it yourself and the project's value is more than $11,000 including GST, yes: you need a QBCC owner-builder permit. The value is counted as if a licensed contractor supplied all materials and labour. Owner-builders can build residential sheds, garages and carports, but not farm or industrial buildings.
